If you ask most elementary school teachers they would tell you that you can tell when a full moon is coming. The behavior of the students changes…usually not for the better.
On my way to work on Tuesday I noticed a giant full moon. It looked beautiful! It made me smile but almost immediately my stomach dropped. Today would be a HIGH ENERGY day in room 12.
By 9:15 I had tried to quiet down my class no fewer than 5 times (they start to arrive at 8:45). It was going to be a HIGH ENERGY day in room 12.
At 10:45 I glanced at the clock. The class had settled in and was finally quietly reading independently. I took a moment to breath, take in the quiet and open my kombucha.
Pop! PSSSSHHHHHHH! The can exploded and bubbled all over. The class went wild grabbing towels, saying “OH MY GOSH” and just staring and laughing.
Well… It is definitely going to be a HIGH ENERGY day in room 12!

I’m not sure if I always believe the myth of the full moon, but your post certainly made me smile. High energy is many ways!

As an elementary school admin, I can assure you that we all feel the FULL MOON VIBES. Real or not, it’s something. You captured the hype, energy and prayer for calm well.
