I am running out of ideas these days of what to write about with few interactions with others. But today I’ve had a bunch…well kind of of.
I have asked my students to share a joke with me (and their classmates). The jokes just keep coming in on the app we are using to share. To my surprise too most students chose to videotape their jokes so I really feel like they are sharing these jokes with me during snack.
Here are a few:
- What happens when a janitor jumps out of a closet?………….. he yells “supplies!”
- What do you call 2 witches who live together?………..broomates
- Why did the stadium get hot after the game?……………. all the fans left
- Why did the football coach go to the bank?……………….. because he needed to get a quarter back
- Why did the cookie go to the doctor?………….because he felt crumby.
Watching their faces light up telling their jokes is just priceless and makes me miss those 19 first graders even more. I hope the jokes keep coming in to put a smile on my face.
I have some good second grade jokes! Let me know if you want me to use Flip Grid to share a few! Second grade level jokes are my style when it comes to humor. Like this one: What time is it when an elephant sits on a fence? See if you can figure it out!

This is a great idea! I’m stealing it to do with my class next week when we are back online! 🙂

How great that you are creating these opportunities for the kids to connect!

The first one is my favorite. I have been scrambling for read aloud books and found a joke one I am going to record.

That’s a great way to normalize this craziness

How do you get a crab to keep quiet? Take away his shell-phone.
Learned that from my grand daughter. These are so cute and we all need a smile.

Thank you and your students. I needed a joke and a smile today. I may ask my class to send jokes too. A great idea.

Thank you for the laugh! It was just what I needed at the end of a long day! That was such a great idea: I may ask my class to do the same.

I LOVE the first one…
Kids love jokes so much. They should be a part of every morning message….
