Today marks my 1 year anniversary of blogging.  Of being part of the challenge put on by Two Writing Teachers.  Of Slicing about my life.  Yikes!  A whole year of writing from a girl who has never considered herself a writer.

If someone asked me a year ago if I would succeed and blog daily for 31 days straight, I would have said “Umm….maybe.  I’m certainly going to try.  That’s A LOT of writing.”  If someone asked me at the end of those 31 days (which I did succeed at) if I would continue to blog every Tuesday and from now one, I would have said “Possibly but doubtful it’ll be EVERY week.”

And here I am today having blogged every day in the month of March in 2018 and every Tuesday since then.  Who am I?!?

I heard once that writers need time, choice and response to succeed in their work.  By doing this challenge I have seen how true that is.  However, the one that keeps me going the most is the response.  This community of slicers respond.  They give me the push to keep blogging weekly.  I look forward to their responses, and of course, reading the happenings in their lives.  Their responses force me to find the time to write about anything of my choice each week.

So here’s to 1 year down and many more to come (hopefully)!

  1. I was you six years ago. However, after my year one, I stopped blogging until the next March. However, now I do try to blog on Tuesdays throughout the year, too. I enjoyed your upbeat post. Through your questions and honest answers and punctuation and italics I can feel your excitement. Happy Writing this month!!

  3. Congratulations! Especially congrats on continuing on Tuesdays after completing the 2018 month long challenge. It’s not easy coming up with ideas to write about, what a great accomplishment! Hope year two finds itself even more meaningful than 2018! Cheers!

  4. Happy Anniversary. Amen to the need for response. I’m so impressed that you kept up with all of the Tuesdays. For me, the 31 days in March seemed to take a lot out of me. I had trouble keeping up the weekly routine after that. Maybe after this year I’ll be able to keep it going.
