Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a dog lover. I used to be scared of them all, sometimes I’m hesitant still. So, when Brett and Amanda invited me over for a bloody mary on Thanksgiving morning I was a bit skeptical. You see Amanda loves, loves, loves her dog, Moo, but also realizes that the dog is high maintenance and territorial. Eventhough they have been together for a long time, I have never really met the dog.
I decided to give the dog a try, after all bloody mary’s we’re involved. On the drive over Brett warned Amanda who promptly put Moo in a different room so I could feel comfortable. I was very appreciative.
After an hour of being there, Moo came out of the room. Moo sniffed me and tried to lick me (YUCK) but never barked or jumped. Moo was much more sweet than I was lead to believe.
A little while later, I had to get going to Thanksgiving dinner. As soon as I stood up Brett said “DO NOT give anyone a hug. Moo does not like people hugging.”
“Got it!” I said back putting in my huge winter coat as it was 25 degrees outside.
I turned towards the door, waved and said to Amanda’s parents “I think this should be a new tradi…” Before I could finish my sentence Moo had jumped on my back.
“Lean, I owe you new coat,” I heard Amanda say from behind me. I had no clue what she was talking about. As I turned, I saw Amanda picking up my coat fluff from the ground and her mom putting Moo back in the other room. “I’m so sorry.”
“No worries. I guess my new BFF didn’t want me to leave” I said back. But what I was really thinking was it’s Black Friday tomorrow… this gives me an excuse to really shop.
